Tony Bose Two-Blade Barlow Slip Joint – Prototype
This exceptional two-blade Barlow slip joint from legendary maker Tony Bose showcases his signature craftsmanship and attention to traditional detail.
The knife features hand-rubbed satin D2 steel blades with half stops and a pull of approximately 5 on a 10pt. scale—perfectly balanced for smooth operation. The polished bolsters complement the Rough Sawed Bone scales, a nod to classic Barlow heritage.
As Reese Bose notes about this distinctive handle material:
“Traditionally, to keep Barlows cheap, they put the bone on before it was jigged. It skipped a step and made it cheaper for the customer. Barlows were a working man’s knife. But now makers use it because of tradition.”
Additional details include spun pins and a Prototype marking, further elevating its rarity and collectibility.
This piece is pre-owned and in excellent condition—a superb example of Tony Bose’s enduring legacy in custom knife making.
