Tom Ploppert - F1 (80% with mammoth)
This is a newer model from Tom Ploppert, the F1, it is 80% the size of the full size F1! This slip joint knife features a hand rubbed satin finished blade of CPM 154 steel, ss liners and rounded integral bolsters also satin finished, the Federal shield is satin finished. The most attractive feature of this knife (IMHO) are the fantastic mammoth scales perfectly matched side to side. An incredible knife new direct from the maker, it has been a safe queen within my collection but I am now making it available to some discerning collector.

About Tom Ploppert
Tom made his first slip joint in 2009. He specializes in traditional style knives and won the “Best New Maker” award at the 2012 Blade Show. I met Tom at the 2012 Ft Worth Show and bought the best looking knife at the show, his, an ivory handled Trapper engraved by Joe Mason. Some background about Tom from his website: “I have always had a love for pocket knives, even as a young boy. I bought my first custom knife many years ago from Pat West of Charlotte Texas. He suggested I buy a grinder and get started making knives. A few years later I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Ruple. Bill is the inspiration behind my knife passion."
