Oliver Lamy - Merops (San Mai Damascus & Mango Wood)
This is a Merops model from Oliver Lamy d/b/a Skua Coutellerie. This knife features Oliver’s own S-Lock system, the knife opens as any slip joint but with a very easy pull and then the blade locks when open, to unlock simply slide back the tab at the top front of the frame, a most clever design. Additional features of this knife are the makers own forged San Mai Damascus blade with a 52100 core, the frame is anodized Titanium as is the custom tip up pocket clip, the scales are stabilized Mango Wood, and the hardware is stainless steel, the back spacer is Titanium anodized blue. A very interesting and attractive piece brand new from the maker at the NYCKS.

Olivier Lamy is a rising star among French knifemakers, he operates as Skua Coutellerie specializing in custom folders and kitchen knives using traditional methods and craftsmanship. He is renowned for his elegant yet functional designs. His appearance at the NYCKS is his first time exhibiting in the U.S. I am impressed by his work and believe he is a maker to watch as he gains more and more exposure.
