About Ken Steigerwalt
Ken has been building knives full time since 1981. He made his first knife on the kitchen table with a vise and some files in 1978 at the age of 15. Since then it has been his endeavor to build each knife better than the last. Ken primarily makes pocketknives with a lock back or front lock mechanism and occasionally a fixed blade. Ken is known for the carving he does on his knives, this type of carving has become a trademark of his work and makes his knives easily recognizable. Ken has won many awards including 11 Blade show awards in 7 consecutive years from 2002 to 2008 including 2 best folder awards, one best folder of the year, 3 best handle designs. Ken stopped competing at the Blade show in 2008 after wining best-fixed blade and best of show. Ken’s knives are a joy to behold.
