Ikuo Nagata - Art Knife "The Peacock"

Ikuo Nagata - Art Knife "The Peacock"

This is an exquisite art knife from Japanese maker Ikuo Nagata. This lock back features a hand rubbed satin finished blade of ATS-34 steel, the top rear of the blade and frame are file worked as is the liner, the lock back is a rectangular button with an Abalone inlay, the highlight of this piece are the inlays, they are formed as Peacocks using multiple Mother of Pearl pieces for the Peacock bodies and multiple Abalone pieces for the feathers, all set in a black epoxy resin background. The design and workmanship to create this piece is top notch. I acquired this piece from a collector/friend who picked it up while he was in Japan. Condition is as new from the maker.

Blade length: 3"

Closed: 4 1/4"

Case/sheath: This piece comes in a presentation box signed by the maker.
