Grone - Moment Meter

$4,500.00Price

The Grönefeld Brothers move into an all-new design direction with the boldly expressive Moment Meter - their new manual winding chronograph for GRØNE. Below is information about this watch from their website.

Dubbed 'Moment Meter' to capture one's significant spur-of-moments in life: the first kiss; the deciding UEFA finals freekick; seeing the repair bill after crashing your vintage Porsche because of an errant sheep crossing the roadway.

Undeniably Grönefeld in design language and DNA, the new Moment Meter chronograph is a study in dial construction and movement aesthetics.

the Dial

The dial is highly complex, with every attention-to-detail paid. The main dial in salmon features a sunburst pattern which is further finished with a light circular grain. It is complemented by diamond-cut polished steel indices that are by themselves an evolution of those found on Grönefeld atelier watches.

Left and right subdials are mounted on raised concave and convex plateaus for depth and dimensionality, with diamond-cut and polished dial edges, then finished with radial graining on rhodium surfaces. Blued hands for regular timekeeping and bright orange hands for chronograph functions complete the bold color palette.

the Movement

The new Moment Meter is powered by a manual winding column-wheel chronograph movement made in partnership with Manufacture La Joux-Perret. The ruthenium movement with its anthracite tone is contrasted with gold engravings, and finishing is specified to the highest available standard. The beautiful movement is revealed via a sapphire caseback perfectly framed by a specially-made orange gasket to lend that aura of 'Dutch-ness'.

the Moment Meter

At the periphery, a pulsometer scale in baby blue lends a touch of sophisticated playfulness, and is calibrated to a 15-heartbeat scale - allowing its wearer to record one's heart rate directly on the wrist. A regular 1/5th seconds scale is also positioned beneath for regular chronograph timekeeping. The look is completed by a bright orange chronograph hand and a specially-made orange gasket. which frame the piece in the unmistakable hue of 'Dutch-ness'.

the CASE

The case is an evolution of the Brothers' iconic 1941 case, now further evolved for the GRØNE chronograph, and with greater refinement. Exceptional effort was put into prototyping and construction to create one of the thinnest cases posssible for this movement type. The three-part case also features high-polish surfaces alongside brushed finish sides, and for the first-time now features a sapphire caseback.

the STRAP

Early prototypes paired the Moment Meter with leather straps, but both Tim and Bart felt they were too formal for its spirited design. The brothers decided to switch to a blue nylon sailcloth — stronger, lighter, and far more dynamic. Its durable weave retains its color over time, adding a modern, sporty edge that perfectly complements the vibrant colorway of the watch.

On the movement side, the engraved Dutch saying - "Home sweet home” - stands as a quiet tribute to Oldenzaal — where three generations of watchmaking have shaped the brothers’ legacy. It is a reminder of the warmth and familiarity of home - both of the Grönefelds, and of the wearer’s own home. It is a narrative touchstone celebrating one’s heritage and the essence of home.
