Ken has been a knife collector since childhood. Ken was unaware of the custom knife industry until 1989 when he saw an issue of Knives Illustrated. He found a local knife maker, Stan Fujisaka, and begged him to teach him how to make knives. Ken made his first knife in 1991 and has continued the craft since.
Ken’ s knives are in the collections of the rich and famous around the world. He invented the first assisted opening knife, the “Speed Safe” and went on to design and patent various items, knife related and otherwise, including locks, gadgetry, mechanisms, safeties and more. Ken’s knives sell via lottery at the shows he attends and he has licensed various designs to multiple knife production companies. Ken and his knives are a standout in the custom knife world.
