Richard Tesarik - TriColor
This work of art is from Richard Tesarik. This Tail-Locking folder features a mirror finished blade of RWL34 steel that has decorative carving which provides a purchase for gripping and opening the blade, a much more elegant solution than a nail nick. The Titanium frame is polished and features a touch of file work, the back spacer is carved at the tail to form the tail lock and the inside of the back spacer is marked R. Tesarik 2015. The scales are carved Mammoth, Ebony and Ironwood and there are Decorative Silver Pins on each side (38 per side, total of 76 Silver pins!) of the handle.
This is a great piece with a great combination of materials that blend into a overall look that really stands out. There are very few of Richards pieces available in the U.S., he only came to the US once a year, pre-Covid, and has not returned since. He now only exhibits only in Europe but will hopefully return soon to the states. If Richard's work "speaks to you" as it does to me, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire his work as the opportunity rarely arises! I believe once Richard is "discovered" his work will be almost impossible to find as even now his work is highly sought after and he cannot keep up with demand. This knife is new from the maker, it has been a safe queen in my collection, and I am only now providing someone else the opportunity to enjoy it. His work is finding its way into many prominent collections and his prices have continued to climb.
