Bill Ruple - Wharncliff Trapper (Tan&Blue Mammoth) - sold
This is a Wharncliff Trapper model from Bill Ruple. This slip joint knife features both a Wharncliff and a Clip Point blade both of CPM-154 steel with hand rubbed satin finishes, pull is approx. 4 1/2 on a 10 pt. scale, the front and rear bolsters have polished finishes as does the Acorn shield, the front and rear pins are spun and the highlight of this piece is the Mammoth scales with lots of Blue, Brown and character lines, really beautiful. This knife is brand new direct from Bill to Knifeology.

About Bill Ruple
Bill is one of the top traditional style knifemakers on today's custom knife scene. He has won multiple awards for his work. He builds single and multi-blade pieces including an occasional 5 blader. He built and sold his first knives in 1988. some perspective from Bill on his work; "I prefer making slip joints, however I do make some locking folders by special request. My first love is reproducing some of the older patterns made by the early knife companies, but I do make more "modern" looking knives as well". Bill does also does some fine file work on his knives adding a modern touch to the traditional look of many of the patterns he reproduces. Bill's knives carry on the great tradition of handmade American cutlery and will be a treasured family heirloom.
