Brad Southard - Trot

Status - Sold

Here is a new model from Brad Southard, the Trot. This is the Prototype and marked as such inside the frame. Brad names his knives after authors whose works have made an impact on him; Trot is for the author Dawson Trotman. This is a frame-lock flipper utilizing the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System), the blade is CPM-154 with a two-tone finish with polished flats and the grind is bead-blasted and tumbled, the scales are black G10 with a decorative hole on the display side and a unique decorative partial scale on the reverse side of the knife. The back-spacer is textured black G10, the thumb rest on the spine is textured to match the back-spacer finish, the Titanium frame is heat colored, orange peeled, oxidized, and tumbled to create a semi blue tint, the Titanium pocket-clip is set for tip up carry and there is a lanyard hole. A lot going on here at a great price. Brad is relatively new on the knifemaking scene having made his first complete knife in 2008. Brad's background in industrial design seems to be serving him well as a knifemaker, I predict he will become a much sought after maker.
