Joe Kious originally made this knife, his model 23, for Barrett-Smythe Galleries. Joe calls this style knife a "Window Knife" because of the quartz crystal set over the engraved inlayed plate. The gold engraved birds, a Ruffled Grouse on the display side of the knife and a Woodcock on the back and their backgrounds are by Belgium Master Engraver Gino Cargnel, now deceased. Cargnel was known for his work on high-end guns and art knives. The Wharncliffe blade is stainless Damascus. This masterpiece will make a fine addition to any collection.
