S R Johnson Custom Engraved and Scrimshawed Hunting Knife. Here is a beautiful Steve Johnson Deer Hunter model with some great pre-ban Elephant Ivory handles highlighted with a red spacer. The fit and finish on this knife is superb as would be expected as Steve is one of the finest makers of traditional fixed blade stock removal knives there is. Steve is a member of the prestigious AKI (Art Knife Invitational)group of makers and his knives are pretty much only available by lottery. The bolster and pins are engraved by Master Engraver Ray Cover Jr. and the "Deer Hunter" scrimshaw with a deer on the reverse is by the renowned scrimshaw artist Gary Garbo Williams. This knife came out of a collection and has a signed sheath dated 1987, the engraving and scrim work was completed in 2010. A great addition to any collection.
