Bob Loveless Custom Knife. This is a great little knife. This is Bob's City Knife, a hard to find model. Also, this was one of Bob's personal knives. Those knives with the R. W. L. initials on them, Bob's personal knives, are among the most sought after Loveless knives. This knife features a blade of ATS 34 steel, 416 stainless fittings, file work on the bottom of the bolster, the Riverside logo, Hawaiian Stag handles, red liners, tapered tang and lanyard hole.

Here is the story on this knife from the previous owner who had an extensive Loveless collection. He was on the phone with Bob and during their discussion he asked Bob if he had any already completed knives that he could sell him. This knife was on Bob's desk at the time, it is one he used regularly to open mail and small packages. Bob offered it to the collector who, of coarse, said I'll take it. Bob said he would clean it up and make a proper sheath for it. Bob was very specific in telling him it was handled in Hawaiian Stag which has the very fine grain pattern as seen in the pictures. The knife became mine and can now become yours.

Bob Loveless is arguably the most influential and innovative knifemaker of modern times. He popularized the hollow ground drop point blade, the use of full tapered tangs and screw-type handle scale fasteners, he introduced 154CM steel and ATS-34 stainless steel to the knife making world and pioneered the use of Micarta as a handle material. Loveless made fighting knives and is considered by many as the first to make, what is known, as a "Tactical Knife". His knife designs embody the dictum "Form Follows Function", his work is a must in any serious modern custom knife collection.
